My Heart

It floats without direction,my heart.. like a leaf, in an ocean.
Calm as krishna..
With energies of a 1000 horses and with a storm brewing.

And yes.. when it arrives, the cyclone..
it would integral, to the cause.

क्रिकेट::Apna Sachin :)

I had a dream last night. It was a great match..
Sachin carted the opposition out of the park. He was chosen as the Man of the Match. I was enjoying it all the way, yes I was till...
till he announced his retirement from international cricket.
I was stunned..the whole world was. I saw my heart sink.. It fell.. from below the left breast to the waist.. as it touched down.. there was a soft.. naah.. a painful thud!!

It wasn`t my heart i realized.. It was me lying on the floor, I had fallen from my bed.

I foraged in the darkness for my cellphone to call Paro.. (no need to mention he`s useless, and it was obvious he would have no idea..but still!!)
Paro was overjoyed guessing it was an invitation for a midnight Daru party.
His intial enthusiasm died down as I told him about Sachin`s retirement.(That I realized from his sigh.. sounded the same as it does when you pour water on a hot sauce pan.. ummm sorry for the hopeless imagery!!) He was more than happy to know that his Dada (Sourav Ganguly), he calls him: aasol mard<< real.. uncastrated man.. neeiighhhhhhh>>doesn`t it sound like @ss hole mard.. he he :) ) in the Indian team. His masi in Kolkata offers a coconut to Maa Kali whenever Dada goes out to bat.

I guess I have dithered from the topic.
We.. (my generation i.e.) have bred on a heavy dose of cricket, with some awesome names to flaunt.
We`ve worshipped them, criticised them, adored them, ostracised them.. what not.. cuz we have owned them..and we are blessed to have lived in the same era.

Arguably, Sachin has been the best of the lot. The closest one can come to be called God. (Paro.. I know to whom the offside belongs to ;) )
Swashbuckling cricket, innumerable centuries, (GOSH!! what if we add the blistering 90s -my personal favorites- to them!!) eclectic batsmanship, unquestionable dedication and add all these to his stupendoeus simplicity and down2earth demeanour.. and you already know why he got the demi-god status he enjoys.
We cannot imagine an India match without him and, if and when we are struck by the inevitable- his retirement- it would be a difficult moment.

Its sure.. He`ll be missed, even by his baiters - the man has left such an impression. They will realize the reason of their own criticism: that he was not God.. but he was close.. Sachin.. Apna Sachin :)

(I`m a fan of the God of the offside as well. This was purely for humour and for paro ;) )

WHO AM I ??

I am sure this is a question has crossed many young minds and even some of the older ones. No matter where we are, we may even be successful- as they call it, but it does hit us:
The Identity Crisis.
I asked myself again: Who Am I? Why am I here?
This very question answered itself.
I came to the point of questioning the meaning of my life.
I was agitated and thus the search for the motto of my life began. I was refreshed and rejuvenated, even surprised.
The safar began.I had stepped out of my cocoon to find it: my motto.

The Woman

Crashing into oblivion
was my self, my pride..
laughter was deep,
as though a dead man`s
Proclamations hushed,
And silence shrill..
U changed it all,
Manoevered the ship..
Though storms and adversity,
craddled me to sleep,
humming tunes unreal.
In your arms..
I was lost,
into bliss..
and i slept again.
captivated in ur eyes,
i breathed freedom
salutations!!
the saviour,the woman
My captain..
Captain O Captain !!

The Story

I `m telling a story
The intention’s not glory
Nor courage or drama
Neither is it compassion
My soul’s too selfish
To pick up the bastion…
It’s a thought unfulfilled
With a plea to fill
With colors of individuality
And a bit more still…

Those were my early days
Questions aplenty - did we raise!
I learnt the lessons
Alas I had to memorize!
Thin lines there were,
Between truth and their lies…

To practice dharma
I was told.
The path to salvation,
Never knew, was so cold.

In the winters, when we felt,
There was no better time.
Discovered some lines..
That just didn’t rhythm.
On the streets lay a man,
Laboring to die.
He broke sometimes in shivers
Couldn’t even cry…

As we rushed to him,
There were people in our way,
There could be more trouble - they said
When there was none…
There are more in this world
You are not the destined one!

We watched him stupefied,
Being devoured by cruelty,
Not only him,
Many of us died that day,
To live it over again,
Come what may…

It’s a complex world…
I thought.
Still searching for dharma
Chanting unabashedly…
'Serving people meant karma'

इंडिया::Adolescence education

It humours me whenever there is a discussion on whether children should be told about sex.
Hell NO!! Not children, but adolescents should be.
After having topped the charts on now-old tunes of population and AIDS, do we really need to answer the question?

I heard one of the so-called conservative cliques educate us about its perils, the dangers that such knowledge would pose to our social set-up.
Give me a break SIR! Adolescents already KNOW, they all have seen street dogs!!
Although in a somewhat blurred sort of way. I knew it from the time I was in my 2nd grade, would agree nevertheless, not everyone gets as lucky as I was. The blurred image gives rise to a dangerous concoction, mixing young energy with misconceptions and distorted facts.

What’s wrong if they get to know facts from the educational establishment, instead of from the web or some horrible magazines?
Is it not the purpose of education to fight ignorance and make people aware?
Do we really need to remain a sexually-oppressed nation?
Why do we run away from being enlightened, shamelessly embossing school emblems with the words: “तमसो माँ ज्योतिर्गामयः”?

Do we really need to ask us about the pros and cons of adolescence education?
C`mon people.. this is not even a debate.. we already know.
Remember the Chloromint ad: Dubaara mat pucchna !!
